The CEC (Council for Exceptional Children)symposium was held at the University of Iowa.
My presentation was on "Using Cognitive Behavior Management strategies with Students with Behavior Disorders". A great believer of cognitive behavior management strategies, I tried to modify it and use it during my first 8 weeks of student teaching at Grantwood Elementary. The results of the plan were really amazing. Hence I decided to share my intervention plan with the young and enthusisastic professionals at the symposium.

CBM strategies are data based strategies, which help the students to monitor their own behavior, help them make judgments about its appropriateness and to change it as needed (Friend & Bursuck, 2001) More information on CBM check out http://swapnab.blogspot.com
